What it is

Two parameters. One documented study.

Temperature and humidity mapping profiles a warehouse, cold room or controlled store with a grid of calibrated data loggers, recorded over a representative period. It reveals hot spots, cold spots and where humidity pools.

That is what qualifies a space for its intended use, and what cold-chain, HSA GDP and GMP audits ask for. It is different from calibrating a single instrument: mapping qualifies the environment.

The honest line matters. The mapping study is a documented service, not an accredited test. What is accredited is the traceability of the loggers: every sensor is calibrated with SAC-SINGLAS-accredited traceability under schedule LA-2023-0845-C, then the study is run to recognised protocol.

The Singapore factor

Here, the corners fail before the middle does.

Singapore's climate keeps ambient humidity above 75% for much of the year. A store that feels comfortable can still sit outside the band moisture-sensitive goods require.

Sustained high humidity degrades tablets, capsules, biologics, diagnostic kits, electronics and packaging, and it pools in specific zones: near doors, walls, dock levellers and dead corners. A temperature-only study misses half the picture.

Mapping both parameters together shows exactly where humidity gathers, so you can fix it before a batch, a customer, or an inspector finds it for you. If your risk is temperature alone, our temperature-only mapping covers it.

Survey & protocol

We assess the space and agree the protocol: sensor count and grid placement, logging duration, the load and door conditions to capture, and the acceptance criteria.

Sensor placement

Calibrated loggers are positioned in a three-dimensional grid, including likely hot, cold and humidity-pooling spots: near doors, ceilings, floors and dead zones.

Logging

Loggers record temperature and humidity continuously over a representative period, capturing normal operation and worst-case conditions.

Analysis

We analyse the full dataset, identify the extremes and the variation over time, and compare every logger against your criteria.

Report

You receive a documented report: sensor layout, raw and summarised data, a pass/fail assessment, and the calibration traceability of every logger.

Recommendations

Where a zone falls outside specification, we flag it and recommend corrective actions, then re-verify after the fix if you need us to.

Is your mapping SAC-SINGLAS accredited?

The mapping study is a documented service, not an accredited test. What is accredited is the traceability of the measurement chain: every data logger we deploy is calibrated with SAC-SINGLAS-accredited traceability under schedule LA-2023-0845-C, and the study is executed to WHO TRS 961 Annex 9, HSA GDP and GMP protocol.

Why does Singapore's climate make humidity mapping important?

Ambient relative humidity here is high all year, frequently above 75%. Sustained high humidity degrades tablets, biologics, diagnostics, electronics and packaging, and it pools in specific zones such as near doors and dock areas. Mapping proves where those zones are so you can control them before a batch or an audit is affected.

Do you map temperature only, or humidity as well?

We can do either. In Singapore we usually recommend mapping both together, because high ambient humidity is a real storage risk here. If you only need temperature, see our temperature-only mapping service.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

Pricing is quote-based, driven by the size of the space, the number of sensors and the protocol duration. Logging usually runs 24 to 72 hours for a cold room and around 7 days for an ambient warehouse. We confirm the exact figures when we agree the protocol.
